Our Roman Catholic faith teaches the infinite value of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for the repose of the soul of a departed one. Roman Catholic Church law states that a Mass of Christian burial is properly celebrated in the Church.
In either the planning stages or at the time of death of a loved one, please contact the parish office at (337) 667-6344(24/7) to confirm church and celebrant availability for the funeral, as well as for access to the cemetery for burial. Please be sure to contact the church office before contacting the funeral home.
Once you contact us, we will set up a meeting with you in order for you to choose Mass readings (one Old Testament and one New Testament), a responsorial psalm, and music from an approved list. At that time, you will also have the opportunity to choose a musician from an approved list. Suggestions for an outside musician are welcome but not guaranteed, as the pastor must approve your choice. At this meeting, the date and time for the funeral Mass or liturgy service, as well as the celebrant, will be scheduled.
