USING OUR SPIRITUAL GIFTS
There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone. To each individual the manifestation of the Spirit is given for some benefit.
(1 Corrinthians 12:4-7)
This is the basis for the ministries of support in our Catholic faith community. Thus we ask ourselves:
What are my gifts?
How can I use these God given gifts to benefit Our Lord and others around me?
The Liturgy, more commonly known as the Mass, is unique for Catholics. It is when Our Lord comes from Heaven to earth to be in our presence. The Liturgical ministries are opportunites to actively participate in this important celebration. While you are at mass, watch the actions of others who are involved in preparing for or actively participating in the liturgy. Perhaps, you will feel a nudge to participate in these ministries:
Prepare the sacristy and altar for liturgical services, including mass, weddings, and funerals.
Assist mass attendees with parking, seating, offertory, resources, and bulletins.
Liturgical Music & Choir: Provide inspiration via music at church.
Actively participate at the altar before, during, & after the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Open to boys & girls between the ages of 10-18.
Lector: Proclaim the word of GOD during mass and assist in sharing parish information with others.
Distribute the Holy Eucharist during Mass and/or for parishioners in need of personal communion visits.
Offertory Gift Bearers:
Represent the congregation and their gifts by bringing gifts of bread, wine and water to the altar.
